US-based technology firm Parsons Corporation is taking several steps to minimise the impact of the coronavirus on its business, company officials said on 10 March.

Parsons has restricted employee travel to hard-hit countries and has increased the use of disinfectant in its facilities, said Chuck Harrington, Parsons’ chairman and CEO. A company “response management team” has been meeting daily for over a month to evaluate the rapidly evolving situation and make recommendations.

While many Parsons employees can work from home, the company and its customers are exploring potential “workarounds” in case any secure facilities (SCIFs) become off-limits to employees who do sensitive defence or intelligence work, Harrington said.
