Aero Precision, a US-based distributor of military aviation parts, has acquired Kellstrom Defense, an American firm that maintains, repairs, and overhauls military aircraft.
With both companies serving aircraft such as Lockheed Martin’s C-130 and F-16, Boeing’s F-15 and F/A-18, and the Sikorsky UH-60, the deal will create a “new bundle of parts and services”, streamlining sustainment, Aero Precision said in a 2 March news release.
Aero Precision said the transaction will also give it access to more aircraft, including the Boeing E-3, Northrop Grumman E-8, Northrop F-5, and Lockheed Martin P-3.
The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Kellstrom is headquartered in El Segundo, California, and has 220 employees.
