The proposed fiscal year (FY) 2021 US Navy (USN) budget, including the request for US Marine Corps (USMC) funding, is USD207.1 billion, which includes a base of USD194.1 billion and overseas funding for operations and other costs of about USD13 billion, according to USN budget documents released 10 February.

The direct navy portion of the proposed budget is USD161 billion, while the USMC breakout is about USD46 billion.

That compares to a total USN budget of about USD210 billion in FY 2020, about USD162.6 billion was the direct navy portion and the USMC breakout was about USD47.5 billion.

The largest appropriation in the FY 2021 spending plan is USD70.6 billion being requested for total operations and maintenance, about USD2.6 billion more than enacted for FY 2020.
