Micael Johansson will take the helm of defence and aerospace group Saab from 23 October, the Swedish group announced on 4 September.
Johansson’s appointment follows the announcement in August that Håkan Buskhe will step down from the position of CEO after 10 years in the role.
Johansson has been deputy chief executive of Saab since January 2017. He joined the company in 1985 and held senior positions including leadership of the group’s Surveillance business.
Buskhe will remain with Saab until February 2020 and will act as an advisor to the new CEO.
