Brazilian aerospace and defence manufacturer Embraer published results from the second quarter of its 2019 financial year on 14 August. The company generated revenue of USD1,389 million in the period, an increase of 10% year on year, in part due to a large rise in sales in its Defence & Security segment.
The company once again registered a net loss of USD13.9 million in the second quarter compared with USD0.4 million in the same period in 2018, although this was down markedly from 2019’s first quarter loss of USD61.8 million.
Defence & Security revenue rose to almost six times its quarter two 2018 value, reaching USD195.7 million, or 14.2% of the company’s total.
