General Dynamics has agreed to sell the SATCOM Technologies business of its Mission Systems subsidiary to US-based Communications and Power Industries (CPI).

The acquisition was announced on 5 August, although the terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close by the close of 2019.

SATCOM Technologies designs and manufactures satellite communications antenna systems for defence and scientific applications. It also produces related radio frequency products.

CPI is a producer of electronic components and subsystems for defence and commercial applications that specialises in solutions relating to the generation, amplification, and transmissions of microwave signals.

CPI was acquired by the Odyssey Investment Partners private equity firm in 2017.
