The Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) has launched a company to design, develop, and build airborne electronic systems for commercial and military applications.
AVIC officially inaugurated its new subsidiary – AVIC Airborne Systems – in late July in Jiangsu province.
AVIC said the company will partner with local and international firms on developing advanced aerospace systems and related technologies. The subsidiary, which is not yet listed on Chinese stock exchanges, is expected to initially focus on commercial aerospace.
An AVIC press release said AVIC Airborne Systems is “committed to building an international open research platform, absorbing international research and development resources, making breakthroughs in key technologies, and [develop] equipment that meets airworthiness requirements”.
