Australia’s Department of Defence (DoD) has signed an agreement with the Australian Industry Group (Ai Group) outlining principles on industry engagement and negotiation.

A joint statement said the agreement – signed on 31 July – establishes a set of “core principles, values, and shared objectives” for engagement between the DoD and all defence industry participants.

It added that the principles, which were developed by Ai Group and the DoD’s Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), will provide guidance on “expected behaviours underpinning engagements and negotiations during the [defence] procurement process”.

CASG Deputy Secretary Tony Fraser said, “[The agreement] creates a solid base for strengthened, enhanced, and more positive relationships based on mutual trust and respect.”
