Developer of counter-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems Black Sage Technologies has been acquired by private equity investment group Acorn Growth Companies, the company announced on 11 July.

United States-based Black Sage provides UAV detection, identification, and jamming devices to customers including the US government and Department of Defense, as well as allied governments overseas.

In a statement announcing the acquisition, Rick Nagel, managing partner of Acorn Growth Companies said, “Black Sage is truly ahead of its competition in this highly fragmented space, already delivering integrated identification and defeat services across the globe. We see significant growth potential for this market segment.”
