While plans to upgrade the helicopters are currently on hold but not cancelled, the Chilean Navy plans for the aircraft have grown to add an over the horizon targeting (OTH) capability, military sources in Santiago told Jane's in early July.

The originally planned engine and cockpit upgrade for the shipborne utility AS 365FIs is now postponed, while the navy waits on the procurement of new utility helicopters to take over the liaison and rescue roles. A tender for these aircraft is now under way.
