Safran announced on 1 July that it is re-organising the structure of its business into three operating segments as it attempts to leverage synergies from the February 2018 acquisition of Zodiac Aerospace.

The new segments are Aerospace Propulsion; Aircraft Equipment, Defense, and Aerosystems; and Aircraft Interiors.

The Aircraft Equipment, Defense, and Aerosystems segment blends ex-Safran Aircraft Equipment activities, Safran Electronics & Defense, and elements of the former Zodiac Aerospace Aerosystems business.

Previously, Safran operated four business areas. These were Aerospace Propulsion, Aircraft Equipment, Defence, and Aerosystems and Interiors (set up after it acquired Zodiac Aerospace).
