Specifications of Russia's new silo-based inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM) were revealed at the Army 2019 exhibition in Kubinka, Russia, according to a report from the Russian state-operated domestic news agency Ria Novosti.
The report includes an image of a set of specifications for the RS-28 Sarmat missile that Russia started developing in 2005 to replace the R-36M2 Voyevoda silo-based missile. This is understood to be the first time that the State Rocket Centre V P Makeyev has disclosed exact details of the missile's capabilities.
The missile conducted its first test launch in December 2017 and a second launch was successfully completed in March 2018.
