A US Air Force B-52H Stratofortress bomber, assigned to the 49th Test and Evaluation Squadron at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, completed the operational demonstration on 28 May from the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The aircraft released four inert QS64-ER 2,000 lb mine shapes on a remote shallow water location of the PMRF.

The QS64-ER combines technology from the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) and an additional wing kit and battery section with existing Quickstrike mine components.
