Thales has reached an agreement with Atos to develop advanced Link 22 functionalities for the TopLink tactical datalink processor, the company announced on 24 May.
The new partnership will see the two companies further the development of advanced Link 22 functionalities for Thales’s TopLink tactical datalink processor.
TopLink is already in service with a dozen countries according to Thales, adding that the system can be used to manage tactical messages for airborne units using the Link 16 and Joint Range Extension standards.
Link 22 is a secure tactical datalink operating in the high-frequency and ultra-high-frequency bands, and is designed to allow armed forces to share large amounts of data and information in the battlespace.
