Three days of briefings with armed forces, intelligence, and industry experts from around the world have revealed that electronic warfare is poised to become more complex, more critical to mission success, and more debilitating to one’s adversaries than ever before, as Reuben F Johnson reports

A key takeaway from the Electronic Warfare Europe 2019 conference on 12–14 May was that, as electronic warfare (EW) evolves, its use will likely expand into areas of operations outside the traditional domains with which it has been associated to date.

The conference took place in Stockholm in Sweden: a country that is increasingly becoming a front line in the electromagnetic battlespace.
