UK-based Ultra Electronics Precision Control Systems (PCS) presented its UltraLYNX smart hub, designed to manage advanced mission systems for dismounted infantry, at the IDEF 2019 exhibition held in Istanbul.

UltraLYNX is meant to provide a dismounted soldier with a smart hub that can be used to integrate a range of mission systems into a plug-and-play manner. Mike Clayton, managing director of Ultra Electronics PCS, said, reducing "the cognitive and physical burdens of the soldier while increasing operational effectiveness" was UltraLYNX's goal.

The product itself is a hub that can fit into a soldier-worn pouch; it includes six NATO/GSA-compatible smart PAN ports that work with standard wiring from most mission systems and a NATO-compatible software-defined open architecture.
