Australia's Land 129 Phase 3, an effort to replace the army's Shadow Tactical unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), is expected to solicit proposals soon following a slight delay caused by the calling of a federal election.

The requirement has received an investment commitment but a final decision by the National Security Cabinet, which would have usually followed almost immediately, could not occur once the national election was called in April.

Lieutenant Colonel Keirin Joyce, the army's UAV sub-programme manager, is one of those leading the USD282 million requirement, which will see the army develop six bricks.
