The Nigerian Army displayed new surveillance equipment and a prototype MRAP during a firepower demonstration at Army Camp Kabala in Jaji, Kaduna state, on 27 April.

Nigerian television news coverage of the event showed several Thales Ground Observer 12 lightweight ground surveillance radars on display with information sheets that said they were delivered earlier this year. A Thales Sophie-LR handheld thermal imager was also displayed, with the factsheet saying it was delivered in 2018.

What appeared to be a Hensoldt Spexer 2000 ground surveillance radar with an additional rear cover was also shown, although no information was provided on this type.
