Italy’s Piaggio Aerospace issued a statement on 30 April inviting for expressions of interest in the acquisition of the company or any of its business units, or to conduct a reorganisation of the firm.
Advertisements were taken out in the UK’s Financial Times and Italian business newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore soliciting for market interest in a potential takeover of the firm or parts of its activities.
According to the company’s Extraordinary Commissioner, Vincenzo Nicastro, the aim of the solicitation “is to better understand who the interested candidates are as a way to evaluate their characteristics in order to maintain business continuity for Piaggio Aerospace, thus moving forward with subsequent initiatives.”
