Russian President Vladimir Putin urged Russia's defence industry to create a new integrated defence export strategy as the country faces changing conditions in the global export market.
Chairing a meeting of the Russian Federal Commission for Military Technology Co-operation with Foreign States on 6 November, Putin said that as the country's defence exports remained at USD15 billion, the Russian government was continuing to monitor trends in the global military equipment market.
A key factor identified in Putin's statement was the "growing interest from foreign customers in modern research and development [R&D] and design projects, as well as in setting up military products manufacturing at home."
